LEAH OLUSIYI WITHDRAWS SUIT AGAINST INEC, APC, SADIQ ABBAS OVER JALINGO/YORRO/ZING REPS TICKET

Hon. Leah Solomon Olusiyi has withdrawn her lawsuit against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Hon. Sadiq Abbas Tafida over issues relating to the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency ticket.

The case, filed before the Federal High Court, Jalingo Judicial Division, was marked FHC/CS/17/2026.

According to a Notice of Discontinuance dated September 10, 2026, Olusiyi, who was the plaintiff in the matter, informed the court of her decision to discontinue the suit in its entirety against all the defendants.

The notice was brought pursuant to Order 50, Rule 2 of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019.

The development effectively brings Olusiyi’s challenge before the Federal High Court to an end, subject to the court’s formal processes.

The withdrawal comes as INEC’s final list of candidates for the 2027 House of Representatives election lists Sadiq Abbas Tafida of the APC among the candidates for the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency.

The notice was filed by Olusiyi’s legal team, including P.D. Pius, Esq., ACIArb (UK), O.A. Mathew, Esq., L.L. Takdok, Esq., Peace Johnson Johnson, Esq., U.J. Afeyib, Esq., P.J. Nyameh, Esq., and L.H. Wali, Esq.

With the discontinuance, attention will now shift fully to the political contest for the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing House of Representatives seat ahead of the 2027 general election.
