TARABA APC CHAIRMAN RECEIVES SUPPORT GROUPS, TIV COMMUNITY LEADERS AT PARTY SECRETARIAT.
The Taraba State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, on Thursday received different support groups and community leaders on courtesy visits at the state party secretariat in Jalingo.
The first two groups came with a common objective, to formally identify with the party and pledge their loyalty and commitment to work for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas in 2027.
Alhaji Bawa first met with the leadership of Asiwaju Connect 2027, a prominent national support group mobilizing for the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Kefas.
He also received members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a grassroots mobilization group sponsored by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, with the mandate to canvass support for President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates.
In a separate meeting, the Chairman received representatives of the Tiv community in Taraba State who expressed confidence in the current APC leadership in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the group, their leader said since the emergence of the present state leadership, there has been a cordial working relationship between the Chairman and their daughter who serves as the State Woman Leader of the party.
The Tiv delegation also declared their unanimous endorsement of President Tinubu, Governor Kefas and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
Responding to the groups, Chairman Bawa appreciated their visit and assured them that the party is poised for victory.
“I have no doubt that we are going to win the elections. What I want is for us to give Mr. President votes he never expected from Taraba,” he said.
“And for our Governor, as it is today in Taraba, there is no other party than the APC. We must give Kefas votes like never before,” he added.
Bawa stated that he believes in rewarding people after they have worked. He disclosed that Governor Kefas had told party leaders that while he personally selected those he wanted to work with as Commissioners and in other appointments in the past, this time around he will allow the party and the people to choose those who will represent them in government at all levels.
“So let us fill our baskets with votes like never before and hand them over to the President and expect him to reward us accordingly. Let us also fill our baskets at the governorship election and hand them over to the Governor and continue to experience prosperity, progress and development,” he said.
On the issue of anti-party activities, the Chairman cautioned against insinuations in some quarters that certain members intend to vote only for the Governor on the APC platform while voting for other parties in other elections.
He called on all party members to desist from such acts, stressing that for the Governor to sustain the good work he is doing in the state, he must be returned alongside all APC candidates for the State and National Assembly.
