2027: We Are Determined to Take Over Governance of Taraba— Danji SS
JALINGO — The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Taraba State, Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi, popularly known as Danji SS, has declared that his campaign organisation is determined to win the 2027 governorship election and take over the governance of the state.
Danji SS made the declaration in Jalingo during the commissioning of his campaign office in the Nyamusala area of the state capital, where he was received by a large crowd of supporters and well-wishers.
The campaign procession commenced from the Danbaba Suntai Airport and moved through major parts of Jalingo, including the Road Block area, Hammaruwa Way and Market Road before arriving at Nyamusala, where the campaign office was formally opened.

Addressing supporters at the event, Danji SS said the campaign was not participating in the 2027 governorship race merely to make up the numbers, but with the determination to win the election.
He assured supporters that the party would work tirelessly to secure victory, expressing optimism that, by the grace of God, they would be at the TY Danjuma House, the seat of the Taraba State Government, in 2027.
“We are not in this contest to plan; we are here to win,” he told the gathering, urging supporters to remain committed, strong and focused throughout the electioneering period.
The APGA candidate also charged his supporters to remain law-abiding and avoid actions capable of undermining peace and stability in the state.
He said the campaign organisation would do everything within the law to achieve its objective of winning the governorship election, while encouraging supporters not to be discouraged by challenges that may arise during the campaign.
The opening ceremony attracted several APGA chieftains and candidates, including the party’s deputy governorship candidate, the Director-General of the Shiddi Danjuma Campaign Organisation, and candidates contesting various elective positions across the state.
Among those present were the House of Representatives candidate for the Donga–Ussa/Takum constituency, Hon. Barde; Hon. Sarah Bulus, a candidate for the Lau State Constituency, as well as other House of Assembly candidates from Jalingo and Yorro.
The Senate candidate for Taraba South was also among the dignitaries at the event, alongside other party leaders, supporters and well-wishers.
The massive reception accorded Danji SS from the airport to the campaign office highlighted the growing campaign activities ahead of the 2027 elections, as supporters lined major roads to welcome the APGA governorship candidate.
The event also provided an opportunity for the candidate to reiterate his appeal for peaceful participation in the electoral process, urging supporters to conduct themselves responsibly and respect the law as the campaign gathers momentum across Taraba State.
