Rotary Club of Jalingo Prestige Honours Chief Benjamin Bako as Best Performing Chairman in Taraba
Recognised for strides in infrastructure development and security

JALINGO — The Rotary Club of Jalingo Prestige has conferred its 2026 Rotary Merit Award of Excellence as the Best Performing Chairman in Taraba State on the Chairman of the Local Government Council, Hon. Chief Benjamin Bako, in recognition of what the club described as his strides in infrastructure development and security.
The award was presented on August 8, 2026, during a ceremony organised by the Rotary Club of Jalingo Prestige to recognise individuals and institutions considered to have made significant contributions to community development and public service.
According to the citation on the award plaque, Chief Bako was honoured “in recognition of Excellent Strides in Infrastructure Development and Security.”
The award, titled “2026 Rotary Merit Award of Excellence as the Best Performing Chairman in Taraba State,” was presented under Rotary International’s theme, “Unite for Good.”
Presenting the award, the President of the Rotary Club of Jalingo Prestige, on behalf of members of the club, commended Chief Bako for his leadership and efforts towards infrastructure development, community development and security within his area.
The club noted that the recognition was intended to acknowledge leadership and initiatives that contribute to the wellbeing and development of communities.
Responding to the recognition, Chief Benjamin Bako expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club of Jalingo Prestige for the honour, describing the award as an encouragement to continue working for the people.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting people-oriented projects and collaborating with relevant stakeholders towards strengthening peace, security and development in the local government area.
