The Kefas/Tinubu Support Network 2027 has announced plans to intensify grassroots mobilisation across Taraba State ahead of the 2027 general elections, with young people and women identified as key targets of its mobilisation strategy.
The group said it would mobilise support for Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.
The Co-convener of the network, Hon. David Ishaya Kassa, disclosed this during a visit to the Director-General of the Kefas 2027 Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. Danladi Baido, in Jalingo.
Kassa said the group plans to establish a strong structure across the 16 local government areas of the state by engaging communities, promoting voter awareness and communicating what it described as the programmes and achievements of the Kefas and Tinubu administrations.
He said young people and women would remain central to the group’s mobilisation efforts, stressing that their participation was important to political engagement at the grassroots.
According to him, the network has already appointed local government coordinators across the state who are expected to drive its activities within their respective communities.
Kassa explained that the group was not established to compete with existing support groups or political structures, but to complement the work of the campaign council and contribute to its mobilisation efforts.
He said the network was prepared to work within the framework and direction of the campaign council and the APC.
Baido Pledges Support
Responding, the Director-General of the Kefas 2027 Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. Danladi Baido, welcomed the initiative and pledged to work with the support network ahead of the 2027 elections.
Baido noted that two of the group’s conveners, Hon. David Ishaya Kassa and Hon. Gara Nongha, are also members of the campaign council, describing this as an avenue for closer coordination between the group and the campaign structure.
He assured the delegation of his support and encouraged members of the network to work in accordance with the directives of the campaign council.
Baido also acknowledged the donation of campaign vehicles to the support network by Arc. Benjamin Danjuma Gani, saying the campaign council would formally appreciate him for the gesture.
The campaign director-general further encouraged members of the network to utilise social media in communicating with residents at the grassroots, while cautioning them against abusive or inflammatory content directed at political opponents.
He highlighted areas including education, security, health and agriculture when discussing the administration’s activities and urged the support network to communicate its campaign messages peacefully and responsibly.
The meeting focused on grassroots mobilisation, youth and women participation, community engagement and coordination between the support network, the campaign council and the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
