Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has inspected several ongoing government projects in Jalingo, the state capital, reiterating his administration’s commitment to quality, value for money and timely completion of development projects.
The inspection covered key projects in the education, health and agricultural sectors, with the governor assessing the progress, quality and standard of work at each location.
At the Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Governor Kefas inspected ongoing construction and rehabilitation works, paying particular attention to the quality, durability and level of completion of the facilities.
He also visited the Government Science Secondary School, where renovation works are currently ongoing.
During the inspection, the governor made observations and offered recommendations aimed at improving the quality and standard of the project.
The Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, John Kizito Bonzena, Commissioner for Secondary and Vocational Education, Augustina Godwin, and the contractor handling the renovation, Christopher Bongo, briefed the governor on the project and the progress recorded so far.
From the education sector, Governor Kefas proceeded to the Taraba State Specialist Hospital, where he inspected various facilities and ongoing projects designed to improve healthcare infrastructure and service delivery.
The Commissioner for Health, Buma Bodiya, who spoke to journalists after the inspection, said the projects were aimed at upgrading facilities and strengthening healthcare delivery at the hospital.
The governor also visited the headquarters of the Kefas Agricultural Revolution at TSTC Park, where the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Professor Nicholas Oliver Nemesan, led him on an inspection of agricultural facilities and equipment procured under the initiative.
Governor Kefas emphasized the need for contractors handling government projects to adhere strictly to approved specifications and ensure timely completion without compromising quality.
The inspection is part of the administration’s efforts to monitor government projects firsthand, ensure compliance with approved standards, promote value for money and accelerate the completion of ongoing projects across Taraba State
