The Taraba State Judicial Service Commission (TRSJSC), at its 126th meeting presided over by the Chief Judge of the state and Chairman of the Commission, Justice Joel F. Agya, has approved the promotion of 516 judicial staff.
In a statement issued by the Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Useni Galadima, and made available to journalists in Jalingo on Friday, the Commission also confirmed the appointments of several senior judicial officers who had been serving in acting capacities.
According to the statement, the Commission considered and approved the promotions at its 125th and 126th meetings.
The Commission confirmed the appointment of Mr. Useni Galadima as Secretary of the Taraba State Judicial Service Commission, Mrs. Victoria Babas as Deputy Chief Registrar of the High Court, and Mr. Mohammed Loto as Director of Area Courts.
It also confirmed the appointment of Hajia Habiba Barde as Director of Litigation of the High Court and Mallam Muhamoud Lamu as Director of Personnel in the Judicial Service Commission, among others.
The Commission further approved the appointment of Mr. Uruku Garba, formerly an Assistant Director, as Director of Finance in the National Judicial Council.
It also approved the inter-agency transfer of Gilenya Lakodoron from the State Post-Primary Schools Management Board to the Judicial Service Commission to serve as Registrar.
However, the Commission deferred consideration of the transfer request involving Mr. Caleb Maikai of the Taraba State College of Agriculture, Science and Technology to the State Judiciary.
The statement added that the Commission approved the transfer of two of its officers who had been serving disciplinary punishments at the High Court to various courts.
The decisions, according to the Commission, were reached during its recent meetings as part of its administrative responsibilities within the Taraba State Judiciary.
