The Group Managing Director of Adlingo Construction Company, Engineer Ahmad Ismail, has dismissed speculation on social media that the company has abandoned the Nmanai Bridge project, assuring that work is progressing and the project will be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Ismail, who spoke while reacting to the reports, said the company remains fully committed to delivering the bridge project on schedule.
According to him, several beams for the bridge have already been constructed, while additional beams are currently at the project camp awaiting installation.
He described the reports alleging that the contractor had abandoned the site as false, calling on those spreading what he termed unfounded rumours to desist.
“We are not politicians; we are contractors here to deliver the project. No amount of blackmail will stop us from doing our work,” he said.
The project manager assured that the bridge would be delivered within 12 months, adding that the ongoing rainy season would not halt construction activities.
He explained that work is currently focused on the construction and installation of the project’s precast components and beams, which can continue despite the weather conditions.
When our correspondent visited the project site, heavy-duty equipment was observed lifting and positioning some of the precast beams that had already been cast, indicating that construction activities were ongoing.
