Taraba @35: Gov. Kefas Rewards Rwanda Debate Students with ₦5m Each

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has rewarded students who represented the state at an international debate competition in Rwanda with ₦5 million each, in recognition of their performance and contribution to projecting Taraba on the international stage.
The award formed part of activities commemorating the 35th anniversary of the creation of Taraba State.
The Chairperson of the Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board, TSUBEB, Mrs. Binga, presented the cheques to the students on behalf of Governor Kefas at the Board’s headquarters on Friday.
The financial reward is aimed at recognising academic excellence and encouraging students across the state to distinguish themselves in educational and intellectual competitions.
The beneficiaries had represented Taraba State at the debate competition in Rwanda, giving the state international exposure through their participation.
Governor Kefas’ administration has continued to place education at the centre of its development agenda, with emphasis on expanding access to learning, supporting students and encouraging excellence.
The ₦5 million reward to each of the students is also expected to serve as motivation to other young people across Taraba to pursue excellence and take advantage of opportunities to represent the state at national and international levels.
The presentation comes as Taraba marks 35 years since its creation on August 27, 1991.
