2027: APGA’s Agbu Promises Service-Driven Representation for Wukari/Ibi

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency, Engr. Mathias Luka Agbu, has pledged to pursue what he described as service-driven and development-focused representation if elected to the House of Representatives in the 2027 general elections.
Agbu said his ambition to represent the people of Wukari and Ibi is anchored on using legislative office to address community challenges, expand opportunities and strengthen the constituency’s access to federal government programmes and institutions.
With over 15 years of involvement in humanitarian and community development initiatives, including education, youth development, healthcare interventions and mentorship, Agbu said his experience at the grassroots has exposed him to some of the pressing challenges confronting communities across the constituency.
According to him, seeking elective office is an opportunity to expand the scope of his service to the people rather than merely pursue a political position.
“I am seeking to represent the good people of Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency because I believe representation can become a stronger platform for solving problems, expanding opportunity, and connecting our people to institutions where decisions affecting their lives are made,” Agbu said.
He identified education, healthcare, youth unemployment, insecurity, infrastructure and limited economic opportunities among issues requiring stronger legislative attention and federal intervention in Wukari and Ibi.
Agbu maintained that his movement into partisan politics should be viewed as an extension of his previous community engagements.
“Not from compassion to politics, but from service to greater capacity for service,” he said.
The APGA candidate pledged that, if elected, he would work to strengthen the federal presence in Wukari and Ibi, advocate for improved infrastructure and social services, and pursue programmes capable of creating opportunities for young people and women.
He also promised to use the legislative, oversight and representative responsibilities of the National Assembly to push for projects, interventions and investments that could directly improve the lives of residents of the constituency.
Agbu said effective representation should go beyond legislation in Abuja to include regular engagement with constituents, accessibility and sustained advocacy for communities at the federal level.
As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, the Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency contest is expected to attract increasing attention, with candidates seeking to convince voters on their plans for representation and development.
For Agbu, the central message of his campaign remains that political representation should be measured by its impact on the people rather than merely the position occupied.
