GOV AGBU KEFAS INSPECTS PERMANENT SITE FOR 6 BRIGADE NIGERIAN ARMY IN WUKARI
The Governor of Taraba State, His Excellency Dr. Agbu Kefas, has inspected the permanent site designated for the construction of the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Wukari, saying the establishment of the Brigade will strengthen security in the southern part of the state.
Dr Agbu Kefas made the inspection visit on Thursday, September 17th 2026 accompanied by the GOC 10 Division Nigerian Army, Jalingo, Major General Chinedu Ralph Nnebeife; Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Wukari, Brigadier General Chukwuemeka Akaliro; and the Aku Uka, His Royal Majesty Dr. Ishaku Adda Ali, among other dignitaries.
Shortly after inspecting the site, Governor Agbu Kefas said he visited personally to assess the location and its environment.
He described the site as an ideal location for the Brigade and assured that the state government would take necessary steps to make the area habitable for military personnel.
The Governor also disclosed that the Certificate of Occupancy, C of O, for the site would be handed over to the Nigerian Army to facilitate the development of the permanent Brigade headquarters.
Governor Kefas said the establishment of the 6 Brigade in Wukari would help ease security tensions and contribute to sustaining peace and security across the southern part of Taraba State.
He described the establishment of the Brigade as one of the significant interventions of the President and the Chief of Army Staff, noting that its presence would add value to the security architecture of the state.
According to him, with the Brigade fully established, the security of lives and property in the area and adjoining communities would be further strengthened.
Governor Agbu Kefas urged the host community to embrace the military and cooperate with personnel deployed to the area, stressing that such cooperation would be critical to achieving lasting peace and security in the region.
