The Taraba State Head of Civil Service, Dr. Hamidu Ahmed Kara, has assured the Taraba State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission of the continued support of his office towards strengthening institutional efficiency and improving service delivery.
Dr. Kara gave the assurance on Saturday during an unannounced visit to the Commission’s headquarters in Jalingo.
He said the visit was aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration, boosting staff morale and improving operational synergy among government institutions.
Addressing the leadership and staff of the Commission, the Head of Service reaffirmed his office’s commitment to providing the necessary support to enable the anti-corruption body to effectively discharge its mandate.
He said, “You have the total support of my office, and that commitment will remain steadfast. Whatever assistance the Office of the Head of Civil Service can render to enable you to fully execute your mandate, we will readily provide.”
Dr. Kara urged the Commission to expand its oversight activities beyond financial matters to include administrative and technical operations within the public service.
He noted that corruption and institutional bottlenecks go beyond financial misappropriation, stressing that administrative and technical lapses could equally undermine effective service delivery.
The Head of Service further pledged to collaborate with the Commission to ensure that administrative processes are streamlined and effectively implemented across the Taraba State Civil Service.
Responding, the Chairman of the Taraba State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Major General Habila Panyan Shon Zing Vintennaba (retd.), disclosed that the Commission had introduced a digital portal to enable members of the public to lodge complaints online.
He said the initiative was designed to make the complaint process faster, more secure and accessible to citizens, while strengthening public feedback and accountability mechanisms.
The Chairman said the digital platform would make it easier for members of the public to report issues requiring the attention of the Commission.
The engagement, according to the two institutions, is expected to further strengthen collaboration and promote greater accountability and efficiency within the Taraba State public service.
