JALINGO — The Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA) has joined the rest of the world in commemorating World Humanitarian Day, celebrating the courage, compassion and dedication of humanitarian workers and volunteers serving communities affected by disasters and crises.
In a message marking the day, the Executive Secretary of TSEMA, Dr. Echuseh Audu, expressed deep appreciation to humanitarian workers, volunteers and other stakeholders whose efforts continue to protect lives, support vulnerable persons and restore hope to people facing difficult circumstances.
Dr. Audu also commended the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for what he described as his outstanding humanitarian leadership and commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of residents across the state.
He emphasized the importance of promoting humanity, compassion and dedication in responding to the needs of vulnerable communities, particularly during emergencies and humanitarian crises.
The TSEMA Executive Secretary called on individuals, organisations and relevant stakeholders to continue supporting humanitarian efforts and building a more compassionate and resilient society.
“Together, let us promote humanity, compassion and dedication,” he said.
World Humanitarian Day is observed annually to honour humanitarian workers and volunteers who provide assistance and support to people affected by conflicts, disasters and other crises.
