Greenland University Visits TSU, Moves to Strengthen Academic Collaboration

JALINGO — The management of Greenland University, Jalingo, has visited Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, as the newly established private university continues efforts to build relationships with established institutions within and outside Taraba State.

The delegation from Greenland University was led by its pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ojo Sunday Isaac Fayomi, as part of the institution’s ongoing engagement with key stakeholders in the education sector.

The visit is expected to strengthen relations between the two Jalingo-based universities and open opportunities for academic and institutional cooperation.

Greenland University is a newly established private university in Jalingo and is among the private universities recently approved in Nigeria. It is positioning itself as a technology, entrepreneurship, innovation and professional education-oriented institution.

The institution has already commenced admission for its pioneer undergraduate students for the 2026/2027 academic session, offering programmes across Social Sciences and Management, Science and Computing, and Allied Health Sciences.

Professor Fayomi has previously emphasised the importance of collaboration as Greenland University builds its academic and administrative structures.

During a recent visit to the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, the Vice-Chancellor said the newly established university recognised the importance of developing strong partnerships with existing institutions. The FMC management subsequently expressed willingness to collaborate with Greenland University, particularly in providing exposure and support for students in its health-related programmes.

The visit to Taraba State University therefore represents another important step in Greenland University’s drive to establish institutional relationships within the state.

Taraba State University, established by the Taraba State Government, currently operates 10 faculties and more than 50 academic programmes, covering undergraduate, postgraduate and distance-learning studies.
