TARABA ANTI-ILLEGAL MINING TASKFORCE RETURNS OVER 100 SEIZED MACHINES TO OWNERS AT MAYO KAM
In a significant shift in the fight against illegal mining, the Taraba State Taskforce on Anti-Illegal Mining has returned over 100 confiscated machines to their rightful owners.
The heavy-duty equipment, previously evacuated from illegal mining sites and impounded at Mayo Kam, was released following the owners’ compliance with newly established conditions primarily the provision of valid guarantors.
This exercise signals a strategic move by the Taskforce from outright confiscation to a structured system of accountability. By allowing owners to reclaim their machinery under strict supervision, the government aims to ensure that mining activities in the state are conducted within the ambit of the law.

Following the conclusion of the distribution exercise, the miners have since departed Mayo Kam to their respective states of origin.
