Taraba Receives New Immigration Controller, Pledges Stronger Border Security Collaboration
The Taraba State Government has received the newly deployed State Controller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mrs. Saratu Abdulganiyu Ibrahim, following a recent redeployment of senior officers within the service.
Mrs. Ibrahim was received by the Secretary to the Taraba State Government (SSG), Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps, Esq., during a courtesy visit to his office in Jalingo.
Welcoming the new Immigration Controller to the state on behalf of Governor Agbu Kefas and the people of Taraba, Kataps expressed the state government’s readiness to strengthen its partnership with the Nigeria Immigration Service.
The meeting focused on areas of mutual cooperation, particularly effective border management, national security and the protection of citizens and residents across the state.
The SSG stressed the importance of sustained collaboration between the state government and security agencies in addressing emerging security challenges and ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents.
Kataps also assured the new Controller of the state government’s support as she assumes responsibility for the Nigeria Immigration Service in Taraba.
He, on behalf of Governor Kefas and the people of the state, wished Mrs. Ibrahim a successful and impactful tenure in Taraba.
The new deployment is expected to further strengthen the operations of the Immigration Service in the state, particularly in the areas of border control, migration management and national security.
