Ten Division: Taraba Security, Tourism to Receive Boost — Kwelle
The Special Adviser to Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas on Security Matters, Col. Joshua Kwelle Rtd , has described the establishment of the Nigerian Army’s 10 Division in Taraba State as a major boost to security and development in the state.
Kwelle stated this while speaking with journalists in Jalingo, saying the presence of the division would further strengthen the existing security architecture and enhance the safety of residents and visitors.
He noted that improved security would also have a positive impact on tourism, as more people would be encouraged to visit Taraba’s numerous tourist attractions.
According to him, the arrival of the division would bring together personnel from different ethnic backgrounds, describing the Nigerian Army as a multi-ethnic institution that reflects the diversity of the country.
Kwelle also said the establishment of the division would open up the state economically, as increased demand for goods and services could attract more businesses, banks and companies to establish branches and operations in Taraba.
He commended security agencies operating in the state for their efforts in maintaining peace, stressing that the establishment of the division would further complement their work.
The Special Adviser attributed the progress made in strengthening security in Taraba to the support and experience of Governor Agbu Kefas, particularly his understanding of security matters from his years of service in the military.
He said the state was adequately prepared to support the new division in achieving its mandate, adding that necessary arrangements had been made for its take-off.
Kwelle also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the establishment of the 10 Division in Taraba State and called on residents to support the military formation and cooperate with its personnel to enable it to effectively discharge its responsibilities.
