TSU Management Visits New Chancellor, Gangwari Ganye, Seeks Support for University Development
The Vice-Chancellor of Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, Prof. Sunday Paul Bako, has led members of the university management on a courtesy visit to the Gangwari Ganye and Paramount Ruler of Ganye Chiefdom, His Royal Highness Alhaji Abubakar Umar Sanda, following his appointment as Chancellor of the university.
The delegation, which was received by the traditional ruler and members of the Ganye Traditional Council at his palace, formally congratulated the new Chancellor and sought his support towards the continued growth and development of Taraba State University.
Speaking during the visit, Prof. Bako conveyed the goodwill and congratulations of the University’s Governing Council, management, staff and students to the Chancellor.
He described the appointment as significant, saying it could further strengthen educational cooperation and relations between Taraba and neighbouring Adamawa State.
The Vice-Chancellor also commended Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for approving the appointment, expressing confidence that the Chancellor’s commitment to education, peace and bridge-building would contribute to the university’s development.
Prof. Bako assured the Chancellor of the cooperation of the university community and solicited his guidance, support and influence in advancing the institution.
Responding, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Sanda thanked the Vice-Chancellor and members of the university management for the visit and expressed appreciation to Governor Kefas for finding him worthy of the appointment.
He also acknowledged the support and prayers of Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The Chancellor pledged to deploy his experience and influence towards enhancing the visibility and reputation of Taraba State University within Nigeria and internationally.
He described his appointment as both a responsibility and a challenge, while expressing confidence in the commitment of the Taraba State Government to advancing education and institutional development.
A major highlight of the visit was the formal presentation by the Vice-Chancellor of an invitation to the Chancellor to attend the university’s forthcoming Combined 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th Convocation Ceremony.
The visit ended with both sides reaffirming their commitment to educational development, institutional growth and stronger cooperation between Taraba and Adamawa states.
