TY Danjuma Foundation Evacuates 50 Taraba Children for Eye Treatment

Hope has come to families in Murbai Community, Ardo-Kola Local Government Area of Taraba State, following the intervention of the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation in an eye condition reportedly affecting dozens of children in the community.

Following public appeals drawing attention to the plight of the children, the Foundation has evacuated 50 affected children from Murbai to the T.Y. Danjuma Specialist Eye Hospital in Takum for specialist examination and treatment.

The intervention followed reports that several children in the community were experiencing serious eye problems, raising fears among parents over possible deterioration of their children’s sight.

According to information made available following the intervention, the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation is taking responsibility for the children’s medical treatment, transportation, accommodation and feeding throughout the exercise.

The children are currently being attended to by specialist eye doctors at the hospital, where examinations are expected to determine the nature and severity of their conditions and the appropriate treatment required for each patient.

FOUNDATION RESPONDS TO COMMUNITY APPEAL

The intervention came weeks after concerns about the children’s condition were brought to public attention and subsequently communicated to the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation.

The Foundation acknowledged receipt of the report before subsequently mobilising assistance for the affected children.
