2027: Sarah Bulus Accepts APGA Ticket for Lau Constituency, Pledges People-Centred Representation
The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, candidate for Lau Constituency in the 2027 Taraba State House of Assembly election, Hon. Sarah Bulus, has welcomed the official confirmation of her nomination, describing it as a call to service rather than a personal political achievement.
Bulus, in a statement following the recognition of her candidature, said leadership remained a sacred trust that must be anchored on integrity, accountability, accessibility and genuine commitment to the people.
“With profound gratitude to Almighty God, humility and a deep sense of responsibility, I welcome the official confirmation and recognition of my nomination as the APGA candidate for the Taraba State House of Assembly, representing Lau Constituency in the 2027 general election,” she said.
She expressed appreciation to elders, women, youths and grassroots supporters across Lau who have supported her political journey, saying the campaign would remain focused on the interests of the constituency.
According to Bulus, her ambition goes beyond seeking elective office and represents a broader movement for improved representation, opportunities for young people, women empowerment, quality education and development of communities across Lau.
“This journey is bigger than Sarah Bulus. It is about Lau,” she declared.
She said young people in the constituency deserved greater opportunities to pursue their aspirations, while women required economic empowerment and a stronger voice in governance.
Bulus also identified education, community development, peaceful coexistence and unity as issues that would remain central to her political agenda.
The APGA candidate said the confirmation of her candidature should not be regarded as an end in itself but as a responsibility to intensify engagement with residents of the constituency.
“I do not see this recognition as an arrival. I see it as a call to work harder, listen more, serve better, and remain accountable to the people whose trust I seek,” she said.
She called on residents and supporters to remain united as political activities ahead of the 2027 election intensify, expressing confidence that collective action could produce the kind of representation desired by the people of Lau.
“The road ahead may be long, but together, with unity, courage, and a shared vision, we can build the Lau Constituency we all desire and deserve,” Bulus added.
