Bwacha Congratulates TSU on Historic Convocation, Calls for Increased Funding

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Taraba State for the 2027 election, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, CON, Esq., has congratulated the management, staff and students of Taraba State University, Jalingo, on the successful hosting of the institution’s historic 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th Combined Convocation.
Bwacha, in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Joshua Yohanna Nafinji, described the combined convocation and its lecture as an important milestone in the history and development of the state-owned university.
The former Senator representing Taraba South also paid tribute to the late former Governor of Taraba State, Capt. (Pharm.) Danbaba Danfulani Suntai, acknowledging his visionary role in laying the foundation for the establishment and growth of Taraba State University.
Bwacha said Suntai’s commitment to education and the establishment of the university remain an enduring part of his legacy to the people of Taraba State.
He called on the Taraba State Government and its educational partners to provide greater support to the university through adequate funding, stronger administrative structures and sustained investment in quality education.
The PDP governorship candidate particularly stressed the need for prudent and transparent utilisation of university funds to improve critical infrastructure, provide a conducive learning environment, strengthen campus security and expand scholarship opportunities for Taraba State indigenes.
He urged stakeholders to work collectively to consolidate the gains already recorded and position Taraba State University as a genuine centre of excellence in teaching, research and community service.
Bwacha congratulated the university community and graduands on the successful combined convocation, describing the event as another significant chapter in the development of the institution.
