Taraba 2027: Danji SS Campaign Expands Team, Appoints Deputy DG, Communications, Youth Directors
The campaign organisation of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in Taraba State, Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi, popularly known as Danji SS, has announced fresh appointments into its campaign structure as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The latest appointments include Mr. Samaila Yakubu, popularly known as Young JP, as Deputy Director-General for the Southern Zone; Mr. Umaru Emmanuel as Director of Communications and Strategy; and Mr. Almajiri Leonard Wilson as Director of Youth Mobilisation and Strategy.
Director-General of the Danji SS Campaign Organisation, Prof. Ambrose A. Zemba, announced the appointments, saying they are part of efforts to strengthen the campaign’s grassroots mobilisation, communication strategy, youth participation and engagement with stakeholders across Taraba State.
As Deputy Director-General for the Southern Zone, Yakubu is expected to coordinate and strengthen the campaign’s political and grassroots activities across the southern part of the state as the organisation expands its structures ahead of the election.
Wilson, as Director of Youth Mobilisation and Strategy, is expected to lead efforts aimed at increasing youth participation in the campaign and developing strategies for engaging young people across the state.
The campaign also appointed Umaru Emmanuel as Director of Communications and Strategy, placing him in charge of coordinating the organisation’s messaging, media engagements, strategic communications and public image.
According to the campaign, Emmanuel holds a Diploma in Land Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Resource Management and works as an Environmental Resource Manager and freelancer with experience in research, communication, content development and public engagement.
Prof. Zemba said Emmanuel’s academic background, professional experience, media exposure and familiarity with contemporary communication platforms would strengthen the campaign’s messaging and public outreach.
In his new role, Emmanuel is expected to serve as a major link between the campaign organisation, the media and the public, while ensuring that information emanating from the campaign is accurate, timely and consistent.
Prof. Zemba congratulated the three appointees and urged them to deploy their experience, networks and expertise towards promoting the vision and programmes of Danji SS and strengthening the campaign across Taraba State.
The latest appointments represent another step in the gradual build-up of the Danji SS campaign structure following the earlier appointment of Prof. Zemba as Director-General.
With political activities gathering momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, the expansion of the campaign team signals APGA’s move to deepen its organisation across the state’s senatorial zones and position the Danji SS governorship campaign for wider grassroots engagement.
