Kefas Commends Fire Service Trainees, Says Taraba Government Is Satisfied With Training
Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has expressed satisfaction with the training received by personnel of the state fire service at the Federal Fire Academy in Lagos.
The governor stated this during a visit to the academy to assess the training programme and observe how the Taraba State contingent was being equipped with modern firefighting skills.
Representing the governor, the Permanent Secretary general service, Haruna Abdukadir, commended the management of the academy, particularly the Commander and instructors, for the transformation of the institution and the quality of training provided to the participants.
The Governor urged the trainees to make effective use of the knowledge and skills acquired at the academy by putting them into practice when they return to the state.
He reminded them that fire is a serious threat to lives and property, saying, “Fire is not a friend to anyone,” while wishing the trainees success in their future assignments.
Also speaking, the Senior Project Manager of Nigerbird Engineering, Odiri Asagba, the company handling the recruitment exercise and supply of firefighting equipment, expressed appreciation to Governor Kefas for giving the company the opportunity to contribute to the development of fire services in Taraba State.
Asagba said the company was proud to be part of the governor’s vision of strengthening fire prevention and emergency response across the 16 local government areas of the state.
He said Nigerbird was ready to continue partnering with the Taraba State Government to achieve the vision, adding that Taraba State would become a reference point for effective fire protection and emergency response in Nigeria.
One of the trainees who participated in the programme at the Lagos Fire Academy also expressed appreciation to Governor Kefas for the opportunity to undergo the training.
She thanked Nigerbird for championing the training programme and commended the instructors for imparting valuable knowledge and practical skills.
The trainee pledged to apply the knowledge acquired and give her best in serving Taraba State and Nigeria.
The event featured a colourful match display by the Taraba State fire service personnel who underwent the training at the academy.
The contingent demonstrated various firefighting skills acquired during the programme.
