TSEMA, NIMC PARTNER TO STRENGTHEN DISASTER RESPONSE THROUGH VERIFIED IDENTITY
The Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA) and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) have entered into a partnership aimed at strengthening disaster response and ensuring timely, transparent delivery of relief materials to affected persons across Taraba State.

The partnership was reached during a courtesy visit by a delegation from NIMC to the TSEMA Headquarters in Jalingo.
Speaking during the visit, the Director of Administration, NIMC, Mr. Amos A. Paul, said the collaboration would facilitate proper identification and verification of disaster victims while also supporting the enrolment of residents who are yet to obtain their National Identification Number (NIN).

According to him, the initiative will help ensure that beneficiaries of emergency interventions are properly identified and documented, thereby improving accountability and reducing challenges associated with inaccurate beneficiary records.
Responding, the Executive Secretary of TSEMA, Dr. Echuseh Audu, described the partnership as an important step towards improving the agency’s capacity to respond effectively to emergencies.

She said the collaboration would enable TSEMA to deliver relief interventions to verified beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner, in line with the agency’s mandate.

Dr. Audu also acknowledged the support of the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, towards strengthening emergency management and disaster-response services across the state.
The TSEMA-NIMC partnership is expected to improve beneficiary data integrity, strengthen identification during emergencies and help ensure that government assistance reaches the right victims when disasters occur.
