Construction company mobilises equipment, personnel as emergency intervention restores Bali–Suntai traffic

Less than 48 hours after flooding washed away sections of the Zagah–Suntai road in Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State, CRCC Construction Company Limited has carried out an emergency intervention that has reopened the important highway to motorists.

The development brings temporary relief to residents and travellers after heavy rainfall and flooding severely damaged portions of the road, making it impassable and leaving commercial vehicles and other road users stranded.

Following reports of the collapse, CRCC Construction Company Limited moved into the affected area, deploying heavy-duty equipment, skilled personnel and other resources to restore access.

The intervention was undertaken by the construction company in coordination with local community leaders and the Bali Local Government authorities.

An emergency access route was initially created to enable equipment and personnel to reach the damaged section before loading, haulage, backfilling, compaction and stabilisation works commenced.

The company reportedly worked around the clock, and within two days the affected portion was restored sufficiently for vehicles to resume movement.

COMPANY INTERVENTION RESTORES ACCESS

The reopening is significant because the emergency work was undertaken by CRCC Construction Company Limited, rather than being presented as a direct road rehabilitation project carried out by the Taraba State Government.

CRCC described the intervention as part of its commitment to supporting communities within areas where it operates and responding to emergencies affecting residents.

Community leaders and local government officials have also commended the company for responding quickly to the crisis.

The Zagah–Suntai route is an important link connecting Bali with Suntai and other communities and provides access towards other parts of Taraba State.

Its collapse had raised serious concerns among residents and motorists about the possibility of communities being cut off if urgent action was not taken.

TARABA NEWS HAD RAISED ALARM

The development follows earlier reports by Taraba News drawing attention to the deteriorating condition of the road and the threat posed by the damaged section at Zagah.

The situation deteriorated after heavy rainfall eventually washed away part of the highway, effectively cutting the road and disrupting movement.

Although the emergency intervention by CRCC has restored traffic, the latest incident again highlights concerns over the need for a permanent engineering solution to the vulnerable section of the road.

The emergency backfilling and stabilisation have reopened the highway, but residents will be looking towards the relevant authorities for a lasting intervention capable of preventing another washout during heavy rainfall.

For now, motorists and communities dependent on the Zagah–Suntai corridor have received immediate relief — following the intervention of CRCC Construction Company Limited.
